Back-to-School Parent Forum

Parents — as your children head back to school, make sure you are prepared to help them have a successful year. Not only do you want them to earn good grades, you’ll want them to stay on top of their school work to avoid stress, effectively navigate social situations, and respond to bullying, if it happens.  Join our own 2019 DC Mother of the Year, Carol Muleta and the DC Metro Association of American Mothers Inc. on Saturday, September 14 for a free Back to School Parent Forum that will address all of these topics.  This event will be held at Shepherd Park Public Library from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.  You will hear from three great speakers who will give you tips to make sure your child starts the year off right! Again, this event is free.  We just need you to register at Eventbrite:  https://www.eventbrite.com/e/back-to-school-parent-forum-tickets-69261867109

It was my pleasure on Friday night to moderate an engaging Community Forum on Black & Latinx Issues hosted by Arlington Schools Hispanic Parent Association and Just Advocacy with support from The Kernodle Firm. Thank you to Gabriela Uro, Zakiya Worthey, and Whytni Kernodle for the invitation. Thanks also goes to the candidates and their staff who came out to share their positions on important issues.
