Back-to-School Parent Forum

Parents — as your children head back to school, make sure you are prepared to help them have a successful year. Not only do you want them to earn good grades, you’ll want them to stay on top of their school work to avoid stress, effectively navigate social situations, and respond to bullying, if it happens.  Join our own 2019 DC Mother of the Year, Carol Muleta and the DC Metro Association of American Mothers Inc. on Saturday, September 14 for a free Back to School Parent Forum that will address all of these topics.  This event will be held at Shepherd Park Public Library from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.  You will hear from three great speakers who will give you tips to make sure your child starts the year off right! Again, this event is free.  We just need you to register at Eventbrite:  https://www.eventbrite.com/e/back-to-school-parent-forum-tickets-69261867109

Organizing for Back to School Success

Back by popular demand is an insightful conversation I had with two professionals who are at the top of their game in professional organization and educational coaching — C. Lee Cawley of Simplify You and Kristin Carpenter of Linder Educational Coaching. It seemed to me that parents would certainly value their tips of the trade and I was right.  After the supplies are purchased, it's time to help our students get down to business.  Sometimes, parents don't know where to start.  Thanks to C. Lee and Kristin, here are a few ideas! (Air Date:  September 11, 2015/Rebroadcast:  August 31, 2018)
